Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Opportunities (Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center, Emergency Shelter and Day Resource Center) – 2023-2034 

Please note all volunteers are required to show proof of COVID vaccinations and the date of a recent flu vaccination for regular positions at all three locations. A background check is also required for volunteers at the Crisis Intervention Center and the Emergency Shelter.

Location: Crisis Center, 8990 Old Annapolis Rd., Suite A, Columbia 21045 

Pantry organizer – Help sort and organize nonperishable food items and hygiene items for community members assisted by Crisis Services

Openings – Currently only short-term positions are available on an as-needed basis

Location: Emergency Shelter, 6700 Freetown Rd., Columbia 21044 

Special projects – Help with a variety of organizational tasks

Following are openings for individuals 18 years and over:

Volunteers are cross-trained to work in the pantry, shower and laundry areas. All volunteers have direct contact with our guests.

Days

  • Mondays and Wednesdays 1:30-6 p.m.
  • Saturdays 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m.
