Donations
Hundreds of donors support Grassroots every year with their
generous gifts of money, stocks, gift certificates, food, personal hygiene
items, household goods, etc. Each gift helps us to fulfill our mission of
helping those in crisis and in need. All donations are tax deductible to
the fullest extent of the law. Grassroots is a private non-profit 501
(c)(3) agency.

Grassroots has been a member of United Way Central Maryland
since 1977. Our designation number is 084. Grassroots also
participates in the Maryland Charity Campaign (#8084) and the Combined Federal
Campaign.

SHELTER DONATIONS
The shelter is always in need of certain items such as canned
goods, cleaning supplies, paper products, school supplies, diapers, etc.
Items can be dropped off at our main location at 6700 Freetown Road anytime.
Please be sure to fill our a donation slip so that we may properly acknowledge
your donation. Sorry but we cannot accept donations of used clothing,
large furniture items or toys. For any other types of items please contact
