Ellicott Mills Middle School Named Change Matters Champion by Grassroots

ChampionEllicott Mills Middle School generated almost $6,000 during its annual walkathon to benefit Change Matters, the student service learning and philanthropy initiative that supports Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center. The school has participated in the Change Matters campaign since 2010 and has been named a Change Matters Champion by Grassroots. At a recent visit to the Grassroots shelter on Freetown Road in Columbia, Ellicott Mills Middle School Principal Chris Rattay and 7th grade Social Studies teacher and Student Service Learning Coordinator Brice Dawson presented Grassroots Executive Director Andrea Ingram a pledged check for $5,859.56, the largest contribution from a Howard County school during the 2015-2016 school year.
