Grassroots Receives Free Little Library from Church

Grassroots, Howard County’s 24-7 crisis intervention center and shelter for the homeless, is now the home of a Little Free Library. New Hope Lutheran Church donated and installed the library and planted flowers nearby. It was painted and decorated with encouraging messages by Grassroots staff members. Guests and community members can share the love of reading by taking a book to read themselves or leaving a book to share with someone else. Nationally nearly 10 million books are shared each year through Little Free Libraries, which were started to share books, bring people of all abilities together and create communities of readers.

Checking out the new addition at Grassroots were (from l.) staff members Kathy Piet, Tina Field, Katie Dant and Kim Delmar. Jordan White is in the front.
